A Chelsea Pensioner whose health has been "declining" has been given a "morale boost" by meeting some players from his favourite football team, Tottenham Hotspur.

Veteran Dave 'Tottenham Thommo' Thompson got to meet a number of players at the club's training ground, posing for a photo with star forward Heung-min Son and Wales defender Ben Davies.

He also got to meet and get a photo with former defenders and now club ambassadors, Michael Dawson and Ledley King.

The Armed Forces Spurs Official Supporters Club, which helped arrange Dave's visit, shared photos of his day out and wrote that while former striker Martin Chivers is "his all-time favourite player... these lads are very high up there, too!"

"The Spurs staff went above and beyond to give him an afternoon to remember," the supporters club tweeted.
