Scottish War Memorial Defaced With 'SNP' Graffiti

Police in Scotland are investigating after a war memorial in Shetland was defaced with graffiti.
The letters 'SNP' were sprayed on the side of a concrete monument in Lerwick, which sits across from the town hall.
The incident is believed to have taken place between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.
The Scottish National Party said it was outraged at the attack on a memorial "honouring those who died protecting all our freedoms".
Two local volunteers have since removed the writing, while Police Scotland has asked for anyone who may have information on the incident to contact them.
Anyone with information can contact police in Lerwick on 101, quoting reference 573 of August 22, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
