Minister meets and thanks military personnel involved in Sudan evacuation

A minister has praised the "compassionate and sympathetic" Armed Forces personnel involved in the recent evacuation of Sudan.

Around 1,000 UK military personnel were deployed to evacuate UK nationals from Sudan last month amid fighting between two warring factions in the east African country.

During a visit to British Forces Cyprus, Europe Minister Leo Docherty met and thanked some members of the military who were involved in the mission.

In the video above, the former defence minister told Forces News he is "very grateful" for the Armed Forces' work.
