Parachute display team launches new season with 7,000ft Chinook display

The RAF Falcons have launched the start of the 2022 season by performing their display in front of the public for the first time.

The parachute display team jumped from a Chinook at 7,000ft at RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, with crowds watching on as the RAF Falcons performed with red smoke trailing behind them.

Aside from the training that goes into becoming an RAF Falcon, there is much preparation on the day.

Wind speeds and the weather are carefully considered to ensure the drop is accurately accomplished.
