Queen attends Lisburn parade to mark Rifles soldiers completing junior leadership selection

The Queen has attended a parade in Lisburn to mark soldiers from 2nd Battalion, The Rifles completing their junior leadership selection.
She visited the soldiers in her role as Colonel-in-Chief of The Rifles and took the salute at the pass-off parade for the junior non-commissioned officers.
The Queen was last in Northern Ireland in May 2023 when she undertook engagements with King Charles on their first visit to the region following the coronation.
Lieutenant Colonel Dan Brown, the commanding officer of 2 Rifles, said: "We were delighted to have Her Majesty The Queen at the parade, which recognised the achievements of our Riflemen.
"After six weeks of demanding training that developed and tested their potential to lead fellow soldiers, the opportunity to mark their achievements in front of our Colonel-in-Chief made the occasion even more special."
Following the parade, at a reception in Thiepval Barracks the Queen was introduced to families and friends of the soldiers on parade.
The Queen is travelling alone this week after King Charles stepped back from his public duties while he is receiving treatment for cancer.
