How Russia is turning to glide bombs as it runs down its stocks of guided missiles
Russia is making increasing use of glide bombs as it struggles to replenish its supply of precision-guided weapons.
Glide bombs are standard air-launched weapons which have been retro-fitted with a guidance system and pop-out wings.
With the added glide and guidance kit, the bomb can travel for several kilometres.
This allows the launch aircraft, typically a Sukhoi Su-34, to drop them outside the range of Ukrainian air defences.
