Russia has cancelled its premier international airshow MAKS.

The event is held near Moscow every other year and showcases Russia's civil and military aerospace sector and is key to securing customers

The show has been cancelled due to security concerns following recent uncrewed aerial vehicle attacks in Russia.

An MOD intelligence update also suggest there could be damage to Russia's reputation if fewer international delegations attend.

The reports adds that Russia's aerospace sector is struggling under sanctions.

Plus, highly trained specialists in the sector are being encouraged to serve as infantry in the Roscosmos space agency's own militia.

The agency released a recruitment video and teamed up with the Russian army to raise, fund and equip a militia to fight in Ukraine.
