This First World War Prosthetic Leg Weighs Four Stone

Thankfully over the years the technology behind prosthetic limbs has become much more advanced. As Claire Sadler discovered one unlucky Roof Thatcher who lost his leg in the First World War had to make do with something much more basic. This limb weighed four stone and eventually had to be held together with Chicken wire.
