HMS Defender Welcomed Home After Nine Month Deployment

HMS Defender has returned to Portsmouth after a deployment working with the American and French carrier groups fighting Daesh.
 
She supported and helped defend US and French aircraft carriers as their planes launched attacks against targets in Iraq and Syria. 
 
Last month the ship and her contingent of Royal Marines, seized over a tonne of hashish from a dhow in the Indian Ocean.
 
Now, after nine long months, crew members have been reunited with their loved ones.
