Victoria Cross Stone Unveiled To WWI Naval Hero

Northern Ireland has rounded off its Battle of Jutland centenary commemorations with the unveiling of a Victoria Cross stone.

It's in memory of local hero, Royal Navy Commander Edward Bingham, who was given one of the relatively few Victoria Crosses awarded for naval bravery during World War I.

Commander Bingham, who was in charge of a destroyer division during the battle, led it in attacks on enemy destroyers and then on the battle cruisers of the German fleet.
