Defence Secretary orders investigation into alleged use of RAF bases by Epstein

John Healey has instructed Ministry of Defence officials to investigate allegations that Jeffrey Epstein may have used RAF bases for sex trafficking activities.
The investigation comes after concerns were raised by former Labour prime minister Gordon Brown about the use of RAF bases by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor to meet Epstein.
"The Defence Secretary has ordered a review of all records that the department may hold relating to Epstein flights landing at RAF bases to ensure that any information which relates to Epstein’s crimes is uncovered and provided to the relevant authorities," an MOD spokesperson said.
"The MOD will support any civilian police investigations."
Police have already launched an inquiry into the use of private terminals at London’s Luton and Stansted airports by the late paedophile financier.
Epstein’s alleged use of RAF bases was raised by Mr Brown, who wrote to six police forces calling on them to investigate whether Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor had used sites like RAF Marham and RAF Northolt to meet Epstein.
Mr Brown’s letters were first reported by the Sunday Telegraph.
BFBS Forces News understands private and commercial aircraft are able to use RAF airfields across the UK, provided they cover all costs and do not affect military activities.
It is particularly common practice at RAF Northolt due to its proximity to London, while less common at RAF Marham given its role as a frontline fast jet base.
