Britain Remembers VE Day

Commemorations, celebrations, and a time for reflection.

This year's 70th anniversary of VE Daywhich signalled the end of the Second World War in Europe, was marked in many ways.

A special service was held at Westminster Abbey attended by Her Majesty The Queen and other senior members of the Royal Family.

Churches and cathedrals across the UK, meanwhile, rang their bells to mark the anniversary.

And around 1,000 veterans and their families took part in a parade along Whitehall to thank them for their unstinting service, sacrifice and courage.
