Mud, Sweat And Gears With The Army’s Newest Combat Regiment

New drivers from the Scottish and North Irish Yeomanry (SNIY) have been making a splash while conducting off-road training in the regiment's armoured Land Rovers.

Some traditional Scottish weather presented the enthusiastic Army reservists with a perfect opportunity to test their navigational and driving skills in wet conditions; with crews navigating through as many large puddles as they could find.

The regiment's crews, along with those from sister unit the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, train to navigate across terrain in all environments and conditions, day and night, while conducting combat operations, gathering battlefield information and looking after themselves and their vehicles.

The SNIY, meanwhile, provide all training required for the three main mounted vehicle crew roles; including paying for a driving licence and Cat C licence.

If you're interested in finding out more about them, just drop them an email at [email protected], visit their website or give them a call on 07775012209.
