For Sale: RAF Neatishead

Forces TV has visited a rather unique piece of real estate that's up for sale - Britain's first secret radar station.

It boasts a site the size of 20 football pitches, 17 buildings, a 5,000 sq ft gym, squash courts, an officer's mess and a three-storey radar tower - and it's all yours for just £2.5 million.

RAF Neatishead was built in 1941 to direct British fighter pilots in day and night attacks against German aircraft making raids on nearby Norwich. It was also used for secret radar operations in the Second World War.

The 25.5 acre base was then used throughout the Cold War as a listening post, and RAF personnel were stationed there until 2005.

Neatishead was downgraded to Remote Radar Head (RRH) status by 2006, however, after the decision was taken to substantially reduce activities there.

The now disused section of the base was advertised in 2010 with an asking price of £4m before appearing on eBay in 2013 for £2.5m - anyone fancy a punt?
