Somme Mayor Pays Respects To WW1 Ulster Soldiers

The Mayor from the region where the Battle of the Somme took place is on his on his first visit to Northern Ireland.

Thiepval is where the 36th Ulster Division fought on the opening day of the Battle of the Somme on the 1st July 1916. 

The Regiment will play a key role in the commemorations on the 1st of July when the colours of both battalions will be on parade at the Ulster Tower.
