Welsh Soldiers Out In Force For Saint David's Day

Welsh soldiers are out in force celebrating Saint David's Day with parades and ceremonies across the UK.

At Pirbright, where 1st Battalion Welsh Guards are stationed, around 300 guardsmen, cadets and members have received a small replica of a leek to tie to their forage caps, to honour the Saint.

The leek is the emblem of the battalion, which was formed in 1915.

Saint David's Day takes place on the first day of March each year, when people across the world celebrate the patron saint of Wales.
