Young Cadets Prepare For Life In The Armed Forces

At the start of the year our cameras began to follow a group of more than 20 sixth-form students from Edinburgh College who were preparing for life in the Armed Forces.

They had signed up for an Army career preparation course designed to help with the sometimes daunting prospect of going into a career in the military, whilst developing fitness and confidence.

They've now reached the end of the arduous 18-week course, after being pushed both physically and mentally, with the challenge of the forces application process ahead of them.

Of the 23 who started the course, 12 finished, having spent four and a half months preparing for their two-day job interview.

It was a gruelling journey, with plenty of highs and lows, and is testament to their ambition of serving in the Armed Forces.

From it these young people have become young adults, got fitter and faster, lost weight, gained muscle, and found their voice.
