Parachute Regiment beaten by Royal Guard in charity boxing event in Bahrain

Boxers from 3rd Battalion the Parachute Regiment have lost to their opponents from the Bahrain Royal Guard at the Royal Rumble Boxing Tournament in Bahrain. 

The Royal Guard beat 3 PARA 6-3 on split decisions in a black-tie evening that was held to raise funds for the Royal Humanitarian Foundation.

This is the second time British soldiers had squared off with the Royal Guard at this event, with the Bahraini side beating the Royal Fusiliers 8-1 last year.

The president of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Excellency Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, was one of the event's patronages

Former British professional boxer Amir Khan was also present at the event, where he appeared as a special guest.
