Royal Navy Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu have been named Team of the Year at the 2026 Royal Navy Sports Awards.

The team retained their Inter Services Championship title in July, reinforcing their position at the top of military Brazilian jiu-jitsu for a second consecutive year.

They dominated the competition to secure the title by 100 points.

At the start of the year, the Navy also competed at the Plymouth Interclub, sending white and blue belt quintet teams to the competition.

The white belt team claimed gold, while the blue belt side narrowly missed out. The Navy also recorded two individual victories in brown-belt superfights.

Over the summer, members of the team met His Majesty The King at a REORG charity seminar, where King Charles saw Brazilian jiu-jitsu first-hand and learned about its potential benefits for the wellbeing of military personnel and veterans.

Royal Navy Sport praised the team, describing them as "making their mark on Navy Sport".
