Royal Air Force celebrates its sporting stars at the annual RAF Sports Awards

The Royal Air Force have recognised their best sportsmen and women at the annual 2024 RAF Sports Awards at Halton House.

Weightlifter Corporal Michael Cutler won the Sportsman of the Year award in recognition of his incredible season in which he won a British Masters gold and European silver medals.

Sportswomen of the Year is Air Specialist 1 Darcie Proud, who dominated forces table tennis this year in both singles and doubles with a top 50 UK ranking.

The Team of the Year award went to the RAF Motorcycle Road Racing team, for delivering a fourth successive Inter Services team title in 2024.

Others who received recognition include boxing's Group Captain Ray Morley who was named Official of the Year and Flight Sergeant Mark Collinson from Course Angling, who won Administrator of the Year.

Seven Lifetime Achievement Awards were also awarded, with one given posthumously to RAF Basketball's Peter Clowes who died in March.
