Royal Navy enjoys success at Inter Services Long-Range Shooting Championships

The Royal Navy have rounded off a successful year by hosting the 2023 Small-bore Long-Range Shooting Championships in Bisley.
Held annually between the Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Air Force, as well as Police Sport UK (PSUK) and the English Shooting Union (ESSU), the event sees two matches between the tri-services and a combined service match against the ESSU.
The Navy sent a team of nine shooters to the event where day one saw Sub Lieutenant Theo Dodds and Lieutenant Neil Umpleby advance to the individual finals.
The team matches on day two saw SLt Dodds and Lt Umpleby take part in the UK Armed Forces v ESSU and PSUK matches, where the UKAF team beat the Police but narrowly lost to the England team.
The Navy team finished second in the Inter Service prone matches.

Despite challenging shooting conditions, SLt Dodds won multiple medals and trophies throughout the weekend with consistent and strong scores.
The event closes a successful year for the Navy team, where they also had a strong showing at the RAF Long-Range Shooting Championships earlier this year.
The team now looks forward to the 2024 season, starting with the Short-Range Championships in March.
