Royal Marine Commando Captain Jarrard Hayler is set to make his return to National League 1 side Plymouth Albion for the 2026/27 season.

Capt Hayler, who last played for Albion in the 2015/16 season, will add some powerful presence to the back row as the club continues to rebuild their status as a prominent rugby club in the English game.

He joins Albion with championship experience after three seasons with Hartpury, having also formally played for Cornish Pirates and Saracens.

He is also the current captain of the Royal Navy Senior XV, who historically held a great relationship with the club as Brickfields is where the Navy formally hosted their home games for the Inter Service Championships up until 2024.

His announcement comes as Capt Hayler prepares to lead the Navy men's squad into this year's Inter Service Championships, where the Senior Service will be looking to retain their title from last year.

Speaking on his announcement, Capt Hayler told Plymouth Albion: "I’m looking forward to being back at Albion.

"I really enjoyed my time here back in 2015 and I’m excited to get started.

"Plymouth is a proper rugby club with a great following, and I'm looking forward to running out at Brickfields again."

Plymouth Albion currently sit second on the National League 1 table, where they hope to achieve promotion back to the second tier of English rugby, the Elior Champ Rugby, since their relegation in 2015.
