Sam Matavesi captains Cornwall to County Championship triumph at Allianz Stadium

Royal Navy rugby star and Fiji international Sam Matavesi has captained Cornwall to the County Championship crown.
They beat Lancashire 39-24 at the Allianz Stadium with Sam's brother Josh Matavesi on the scoresheet for Cornwall.
The Navy's Ben Priddey and Edd Pascoe were also involved in Cornwall's success, with Pascoe starting the game and Priddey coming off the bench.

Priddey, who is the Royal Navy Senior Men's XV head coach, thought he had added to the scoreline in the final moments but was adjudged to have knocked on and the try was disallowed.
It's Cornwall's eighth County Championship and the first time since 2022 that they have lifted the Bill Beaumont Cup.
Matavesi will hope to take that momentum into the first Nations Championship where he has been recalled to the Fiji squad.
