Army veteran Corie Mapp has won his second-ever European Championship para bobsleigh title in Lillehammer.

Mapp ran in both heats to finish with a combined time of 1:52.55, which was enough to take the gold medal just +0.10 seconds ahead of Switzerland's Christopher Stewart.

He last won the European Championships in 2020, where he became the first Britain to become European Champion in para bobsleigh.

Mapp's win also sees him extend his lead in the World Cup rankings with two races remaining off the back of a bronze medal win at the World Cup in St Moritz last week.

A former lance corporal in The Life Guards, Mapp lost both of his legs when his military vehicle ran over an explosive device in Afghanistan in 2010.

He previously played sitting volleyball where he represented Great Britain at the European Championships and the Invictus Games in 2014, before Help For Heroes introduced him to bobsleigh at a trial camp in Calgary a year later.
