After 10 years and 23 episodes, Inspector George Gently sasy farewell with a final film: Gently And The New Age. With Martin Shaw as the honourable DCI and Lee Ingleby as Inspector Bacchus.

The story begins with Gently giving evidence at The Old Bailey against corrupt police officers in the Met - his old enemies. It should be one of the final acts of his career, but he is asked to take on one last job by Lister, the head of a new Special Investigations Squad, which examines evidence against ‘bent’ coppers… Policing 1960s style...

Ross Kemp Behind Bars on ITV, Thursday 2nd November, takes a look at modern day incarceration in on of the toughest prisons in the world - HMP Barlinnie in Glasgow... 

Arriving in handcuffs and processed as a prisoner, Kemp then has exclusive access to every part of this Victorian prison. He works with violent prisoners wielding knives in the jail's kitchen, joins the security team on a cell search in the constant battle against drug smuggling and is confronted with an arsenal of home-made weapons, concealed in eye-watering places. In an attempt to understand why Britain's prison population has doubled in the past 25 years and whether or not prison still works, Kemp explores all aspects of life behind bars. He meets a murderer finishing a life sentence and preparing for life on the outside, and takes on his most challenging interview yet when he comes face-to-face with a sex offender in the prison's E-Hall...

In doing so, each imagines themselves living the life of the other...
