Thought-provoking new documentary which tells the hidden story behind the Miracle of Dunkirk. Angry allied soldiers and mariners who had been saved by the Royal Navy and civilian boats believed that they had been left undefended against the Luftwaffe, and blamed the RAF. However, recently released MoD files reveal that the RAF were in fact suffering massive losses supporting the evacuation, halting the bulk of Luftwaffe bombers at high altitude over France before they could reach the beaches. And the files reveal even more: this was the first time the Spitfire flew in anger, and the agile fighter was a spectacular success.
