Incredible footage shows Ukrainian Hinds battling Russian targets on the ground

Watch: Ukrainian Hind helicopters fill the sky with smoke during exciting battle footage

The Ukrainian ministry of defence has shared an explosive video showing Hind helicopters engaging Russian targets while avoiding counterfire from the ground.

The exciting footage, which was shared on its X account, shows two Mil Mi-24 helicopters flying at a low altitude before deploying missiles at Russian targets.

After their attack, the helicopters deploy their countermeasures, filling the skies around them with smoke.

The two helicopters can be seen flying away from the area after their successful attack.

Belonging to the 47th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Mil Mi-24 helicopters are often used as gunships, attack helicopters and low-capacity troop transports.

As shown in the video, the aircraft can fly low to avoid anti-air weaponry such as SAM (surface-to-air missile) systems which are currently being used in Ukraine by the Russian army.
