Ukraine standing firm despite intensity of Russian aerial barrage, insists President

Hundreds of drones, missiles and guided aerial munitions have hit Ukraine over the past week in what President Volodymyr Zelensky described as "Russian aerial terror".
He said 500 guided bombs, 660 strike drones and 120 missiles had been used against his country over the period.
"No other country in the world has ever faced such attacks on a daily basis for such a long time. Yet our state has stood firm," he said.
Mr Zelensky said: "Last night and throughout this week our air defence forces, mobile fire groups and all air defence units worked to protect Ukrainians from Russian aerial terror.
"Over 30 strike drones were shot down in a single night. In total, over the course of the week, Russia has used more than 500 guided aerial bombs, nearly 660 strike drones and approximately 120 missiles of various types against us.
"Our armed forces continue to fight the aggressor, our people are working for the sake of a strong Ukraine and our partners support us.
"Together, we are the force that will compel Russia to seek a just peace and restore peace and security in Europe.
"I am grateful to everyone who understands this and supports us."
In addition to the fighting on the frontline, Russia has continued to target the country's infrastructure and military facilities.
On 21 November a variant of the hypersonic RS-26 Rubezh missile was used against a factory in the city of Dnipro.
President Zelensky has suggested Ukraine should have its remaining territory placed under a "Nato umbrella" to end the conflict.
