Watch: Ukrainian marine raising money for injured brothers in arms

In 2022, the Ukrainian city of Mariupol was under attack by invading Russian forces.

Hlib Stryzhko was one of the Ukrainian personnel defending a plant in the city when a Russian bomb hit the building he was in.

Falling two storeys, he was left with a multitude of injuries, including a broken pelvis, broken jaw and missing teeth.

He was taken to hospital for treatment, but after Russian forces surrounded the building, combat medics told him the seriously wounded would be handed over to Moscow’s forces in order to save their lives.

In the video above, find out how Hlib survived Russian captivity and is now helping to raise money for Ukrainian soldiers' rehabilitation and prosthetics.
