Army puts experimental kit to the test in Cyprus

Brand new experimental equipment has been tested by the Army in the largest British military exercise to take place in Cyprus for more than a decade.

More than 400 soldiers practised battlefield scenarios and sharpened their skills on Exercise Ares Storm. 

The Regional Standby Battalion, 1st Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment, usually based in Dhekelia, joined 2nd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment on the other side of the island, in Akrotiri, to test the forefront of innovation in the British Army.
