BFBS Pro League Grand Final: First champions crowned after exciting competition
Boost Over Ball are the first champions of the BFBS Pro League after a thrilling win in the Grand Final at the University of Stafford.
The day of action was a landmark event for military gamers in one of the world's fastest-growing sports as eight Rocket League teams battled for glory.
Built exclusively for the UK Armed Forces community, organisers of the BFBS Esports tournament aim to harness the worldwide phenomenon of the game to create a competitive arena in which serving personnel, their family members, reservists, cadets, Royal Fleet Auxiliary personnel, veterans, MOD civil servants, and members of the bereaved community can showcase their skills on an international stage.
The two finalists were Boost Over Ball, a civilian team made up of the son of a veteran and two grandchildren of those who have served, and Omnia, which included two members who were family of military personnel.
Boost Over Ball scored a victory over the RAF Stormshadows, who had been favourites to win, in the semi-finals.
A thrilling best-of-seven match followed and it went right down to the wire, but it was Boost Over Ball who celebrated a 4-3 victory and a place in the history books as the series' first winners.
