Army Sports Car Racing's Craftsman Jonathan 'JC' Candler has won the driver's championship at the 2023 Armed Forces Race Challenge (AFRC) in the final round at Donington Park.

In an incredibly close final race, Cfn Candler won both rounds, driving his Peugeot 306 Gti to finish first in the driver's championship on 113 points, finishing narrowly ahead of fellow Army driver Mark White who finished second on 111 points in his Honda Civic EP3 Type R.

Blair Thompson, also driving a Honda Civic EP3 Type R, finished third in the driver's rankings on 92 points to complete a top three lockout for the Army.

The 2023 AFRC Championship, where 39 military drivers took part, consisted of 10 rounds with the calendar beginning at Silverstone National in April, before visiting Croft, Snetterton 300 and Silverstone International before round off the championship at Donington Park.

The 2023 AFRC Graduates Championship was won by the Royal Air Force's Jack Ijewsky, driving a BMW 116i, on 30 points, and the Novice Championship was won by Luke Arpino, also for the RAF, on 71 points, in the Mazda MX5 Mk3.
