RAF women win Inter Services Volleyball crown as Army men set for Navy showdown

Watch: The RAF take on the Army at the Inter Services Volleyball Championships

The Royal Air Force women are inter services volleyball champions for 2024 after beating the Army in straight sets at RAF Cranwell.

The ladies in light blue followed up their victory over the Royal Navy last month winning in three sets 26-24, 25-19, 25-23.

The Army women beat the senior service in their match up back in January.

The RAF men however, the reigning champions from last year, were soundly beaten by the Army men, also in straight sets 23-25, 18-25 and 20-25.

The airmen have suffered double defeat this year after losing to the Royal Navy last month, but this result sets up an enthralling final encounter between the Army and the dark blue of the Royal Navy.

As the date for the final Inter Services encounter between the British Army and the Royal Navy is yet to be set, attention for military volleyball now turns to the Crown Services Tournament in Bournemouth from 10-12 May.
