Royal Navy duo sign one-year contracts with Cornish Pirates

Two Royal Navy rugby union players have signed a one-year contract with Championship side Cornish Pirates.
Air Engineering Technician Jordan Gott and Royal Marine Commando Rhys Williams signed their contracts after participating in training camps with the Pirates over the summer as well as starting in a number of pre-season fixtures.
Their signing comes off the back of a successful Inter Service run for the Royal Navy where they won the Babcock Trophy at the Army v Navy game at Twickenham, where both AET Gott and Mne Williams contributed to the Navy effort.
Their signing also demonstrates the growing relationship between the Cornish Pirates and Royal Navy Rugby Union, as they will join fellow Navy teammate Royal Marine Commando Josh Williams, who currently plays for the Pirates.

The captain of the Royal Navy Men's XV, Captain Jarrard Hayler, played for the Pirates before making a recent transfer to Hartpury University RFC.
And Fijian international Local Acting Leading Hand Sam Matavesi, who is set to appear for Fiji at the Rugby World Cup, played at the team from 2017 to 2019.
