Military chief meets head of Ukrainian military during visit

The head of the British Armed Forces has met his Ukrainian counterpart during a visit to the country.
Chief of the Defence Staff Admiral Sir Tony Radakin posted a picture on X, formerly Twitter, that showed him alongside General Zaluzhny – the head of Ukraine's Armed Forces.
Admiral Sir Tony said it was "the latest in a series of regular meetings" with Mr Zaluzhny and his "fifth visit since the Russian invasion".
"We discussed the Ukrainian counter-offensive and I reaffirmed the UK's unwavering support," he said in his X post.
It comes after almost 1,000 Ukrainian marines will return to fight against the Russian invasion after spending more than six months being trained by the British military.
The UK-led programme focused on teaching the Ukrainian marines small boat amphibious operations, which involved them participating in beach raids using inflatable boats.
It was the first training initiative of its kind delivered by the UK alongside instructors for partner nations, supporting Ukraine to build its own distinct marine force.
