Ukraine unveils Hell drone with double the range of UK-supplied Storm Shadow
President Volodymyr Zelensky has unveiled a new Ukrainian-made rocket drone, boasting a range of 430 miles (700km) – more than twice that of Western-supplied missiles.
Produced by state arms manufacturer Ukroboronprom, the long-range missile is called Peklo, meaning Hell in Ukrainian.
Peklo could be a game-changer, with its 430-mile range far surpassing Britain and France's Storm Shadow (155 miles) and US-supplied Atacms (185 miles).
Kyiv has long demanded permission to use Western-provided weapons to strike deep inside Russia, but its allies until last month resisted.
President Zelensky did not reveal the number of the supplied weapons, but said the mission now was to scale up production and deployment.
According to Ukrainian media, during the unveiling, officials said the system had already been successfully deployed five times.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has received a second batch of F-16 Fighting Falcon jets from Denmark, marking a significant boost to the country’s air defence capabilities.
These advanced jets are part of a broader pledge by Denmark and the Netherlands, announced earlier this year, to transfer dozens of F-16s to Ukraine.
