A group of Ukrainian cavalrymen have posed on the frontline with their horses and Western-supplied Javelins.

Members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been captured on camera with their Javelin anti-tank missiles in a display of 'strength, courage and devotion' to duty.

"Today we stand on the frontlines, where everyone is a chain of the mighty shield of our country," said a Ukrainian Telegram post.

The post read: "The primordial spirit of 'Heavy Cavalry' carries strength, courage, and devotion.

"Fighting the invaders is our mission, and victory is our inalienable destiny.

"Let's fight together, and to the end because we – 'Heavy Cavalry' – are always on the guard of freedom and independence."

In the photo, three soldiers pose on the top of a Humvee while their comrade sits on a horse with his Javelin over his shoulder.

Another picture was taken showing two horses with a Ukrainian soldier on each.

The snow-covered forest in the background shows the conditions soldiers have been forced to fight through this winter.
