Watch: Video appears to show Ukrainian drone boat striking Russian warship in Black Sea

Watch: Footage purports to show Ukrainian drone boat attack on Russian warship.

Footage released by Ukraine appears to show the moment a drone boat attacked a Russian warship in the Black Sea, reportedly leaving it seriously damaged.

The night-time footage filmed on board the boat shows it travelling towards the port side of what is believed to be the Russian Olenegorsky Gornyak landing vessel, with the video cutting out apparently on impact.

The attack happened in the Russian port of Novorossiysk, with the Ukrainian drone boat exploding 450kg of TNT as it hit the Olenegorsky Gornyak, reports say.

Russia denied the vessel was struck, claiming the drone boat was intercepted – however, in the video released by Ukraine, the boat appears to not come under fire.

Unverified images on social media seem to show a damaged Olenegorsky Gornyak being towed into port at Novorossiysk.

Russia has accused Ukraine of attacking naval vessels with unmanned boats a number of times in recent months.
