The 7 Warships Sailing Into London For Defence and Security Show

A mighty mixed fleet of warships will be converging in London as they join a world-leading event that brings together the global defence and security sector.
The seven warships will be arriving in the capital for the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) exhibition on September 12 before making port in the Royal Dock by the ExCel Center in East London.
The Royal Navy, the Irish Defence Forces and The Belgian Navy will be providing support as the warships arrive.

The ships will be used as part of the static demonstrations at the exhibition.
While the exhibition itself is not open to the public, onlookers might be able to catch a glimpse of the vessels coming down to the Thames and into the Royal Dock at varying times over the next week.

The ships joining the exhibition will include HMS Argyll, the 133 Frigate on display to exhibitors and delegates at the show. It was present at the event last year.

HMS Cattistock and HMS Mersey, part of the Royal Navy's Hunt and River Classes will also make appearances.
The Hunt Class are the Royal Navy's anti-mine ships, designed to counter underwater explosives.
With a crew of 45 and equipped with both the Sea-Fox mine disposal system and it's own clearance personnel, there might be a chance to see them in action for those attended DSEI.
The Mersey is an off-shore patrol boat designed for about 20 crewmen to patrol both hostile and friendly coasts.

The LÉ Samuel Beckett is part of the Irish Defence Force and accompanies the BNS Pollux from the Belgian Navy as guests in the Royal Dock.
The Beckett has been doing some astonishing work in the Mediterranean on several tours saving refugees trying to reach Europe since her construction in 2013.
The BNS Pollux is also a new ship, having been received in 2015. Expect guests to be looking for the improvements in the modern coastal patrol ships against the older 1st batch of River class currently fielded by the Royal Navy.

Finally the lineup is rounded out by the Royal Navy's Archer Class. Both HMS Puncher and HMS Trumpeter are tiny 20 meter vessels designed to patrol rivers and harbors.
Last year also saw the Ludwigshafen am Rhein from the German Navy attending.
Here is a time lapse as she entered the River Thames in 2015.
Forces Network will be covering the latest developments in technology and military equipment at DSEI which runs from September 12 - 15 at the London ExCel Center.
