Crossing a river in a battle is more dangerous than ever, and in Ukraine the natural barriers are holding back the Russian army.

Royal Engineers from 130 Battalion have been training to overcome Europe's rivers and continue the fight beyond in Germany. 

Throughout centuries of warfare, rivers have both helped and hindered armies. They can slow down and even stop an advancing army.
