1 LANCS shine in the final showpiece of British Army's boxing season
The final punches of the British Army boxing season have been thrown as the service's finest went head to head for 12 titles in the Open Individual Championships.
Only one of the bouts ended in a stoppage – Sapper Williams in the Cruiserweight contest defeated Lance Corporal McManus of 30 Signal Regiment when the fight was stopped at the end of round two.
Other impressive performances came from Lance Corporal Francis of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers over Sapper Kelly of 21 Engineer Regiment at Middleweight and Sapper Smith of 1 Royal School of Military Engineering Regiment over Corporal McGovern at Light Middleweight.
There were two female bouts with wins for Bombardier Bullock over Private Jackson and Lance Corporal Mooney over Craftsman Worster.
Cyprus-based 1 LANCS were unit of the year for the second successive time.

Signaller Clarke of 30 Signal Regiment scored a split judges points win over Kingsman Whitby from 1 LANCS.
Bout 2 – Lightweight
Private Goldsborough of 13 Air Assault Regiment Royal Logistic Corps beat Private Exton of 3 PARA on split points decision.
Bout 3 – Middleweight
Lance Corporal Lincoln-Francis of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers beat Sapper Kelly of 21 Engineer Regiment, by a unanimous judges decision.
Bout 4 – Welterweight
Private Howles of 3 PARA beat Private Naylor in a unanimous points win.
Bout 5 – Light Middleweight
Sapper Smith of 1 Royal School of Mechanical Engineering beat Corporal McGovern of 3 PARA with a unanimous points decision.
Bout 6 – Female Middleweight
Bombardier Bullock of ATC Purbright beat Private Jackson of 1 Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment with a split decision.
Bout 7 – Middleweight
Lance Corporal Caws of 2 RIFLES beat Sapper Mortimer of 35 Engineer Regiment by a tight split judges points decision.
Bout 8 – Cruiserweight
Sapper Williams of 1 Royal School of Mechanical Engineering stopped Lance Corporal McManus of 30 Signal Regiment at the end of round two.
Bout 9 – Super Heavyweight
Kingsman Speight from 1 LANCS won by a split decision against Craftsman Farr of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
Bout 10 – Female Lightweight Class B
Corporal Mooney of 13 Air Assault Brigade Royal Logistic Corps beat a strong challenge from Craftsman Worster of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
Bout 11 – Middleweight Class B
Corporal Taylor from 2 RIFLES beat Kingsman Wainright from 1 LANCS by split judges points decision
Bout 12 – Heavyweight Class B
Lance Corporal Glover of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers was the clear points winner against Corporal Noble of 1 Royal Yorks.
