British Army lose to Southampton's academy players in Hampshire Cup second round

Watch: Action from the Hampshire Cup second round

The British Army men's football team are out of the Hampshire Cup after a second-round loss to Southampton's academy team.

Greg Peel's penalty gave the military team a shock lead in Aldershot but they couldn't hold on and finished with a 3-1 defeat.

Goals from James Martin, Nick Oyekunle and Hansel Adjei-Afriyie saw Southampton book their place in round three.

Peel's goal marked an impressive few weeks for the Army striker after his cameo appearance and assist helped the UK Armed Forces beat the Irish Defence Forces last week.

Army goalkeeper Charlie Pocklington was praised for his performance against a strong Saints team and you can see some of his saves alongside the other action in our featured video above.
